Celebrate life through Cultural Palates: Themed Sunday Brunch at Novotel Manila Araneta Center

This flavorful culinary affair is going for another round this month of May!

Since its launch a few months ago and seeing many of our friends rave about it, it clearly doesn't need a lengthy introduction. With four themed brunches happening every week at Food Exchange Manila, CULTURAL PALATES: A Themed Sunday Brunch Culinary Celebration is one of those offers that you shouldn't miss.

We've only been to the Kalye Pop themed brunch, bringing you the flavors of Asian street cuisine with Kalye Pop (KPOP) and featuring live cooking corners that serve Pad Thai Noodles, Crab Laksa, Bánh Mì, Som Tum, and a lot more!

And of course, because "Kalye" is Tagalog for street, this brunch wouldn't e complete without highlighting the best Pinoy street food! Check out our snapshots below!

An array of fried foods such as fish balls, squid balls, kikiam, and kwek kwek! Perfect for dipping in sweet and sour sauce or spicy vinegar with chilies and onions. Feeling adventurous? You can do both!

You can also find your favorite skewers made with chicken intestine (isaw), pork meat (barbecue), and chicken feet (paa). Pinoy-style pork barbecue is never without that last bite of grilled fat in the end, and Novotel totally went on the "wild side" with their version of pork barbecue with layers of fat in between! Make sure to get some!

Fresh seafood is available, Japanese style (with sashimi and tempura in order) and to be cooked upon order. Or if you're more interested to try other seafood specials such as Lobster Tail Cocktails, Prawns, Crabs, Mussels, Oysters, Tuna Ceviche and Lobster Risotto amongst many others, you may opt to visit them next weekend for their Fisherman’s Catch Sunday Brunch too!

Meats abound! While we couldn't resist the flavorful skin and meat of our favorite Filipino Lechon and Lechon Kawali, there are also lots more in store for guests like Chinese-style chicken and pork, roast meats, and braised spareribs too!

While they also have a scheduled Indian cuisine-themed brunch called Mumbai Express, guests can still get a taste of Indian traditions with their featured Indian specialties and street snacks at the Kalye Pop brunch.

With unlimited options such as oysters, mussels, and shrimp, this buffet deal is truly worth the price.

Always leave room for dessert, and we highly recommend that you try their Sticky Mango Rice, Cakes, and their Halo Halo and Turon Station!

Different from Turron and Turrones, Turon in the Philippines is actually a warm dessert that's made with local unripe bananas called Saba and brown sugar, wrapped in lumpia / spring roll wrapper, and cooked with more brown sugar until it's crispy and sticky.

Upcoming Sunday brunch schedule:

Ode to Nonna | May 1 and May 29 - serves Executive Chef Massimiliano Pauletto’s (grandmother) Nonna Esperina’s Italian heirloom recipes. Get to taste the heirloom recipes of Nonna Esterina such as Ravioli di Ricotta, Fettucine al Cinghiale, Bacala con Polenta, and Manzo al Balsamico just to name a few!
